How do we make video game videos with commentary?
After watching several video game walkthroughs with commentators on youtube, my friend has decided that she’d like to do a few. However, neither of us know how we’d make a video for a video game. Or even where to start. Does someone know what we’d need to do it? (She wants to make Nintendo 64 and Gamecube games, if that makes a difference, and doesn’t want to use an emulator.)
Also, what could we use if we get an emulator?
oh so shes planning on doing some LP’s. im also planning on doing some, but she could ethier use a webcam with a good mic, or a camcorder (camcorder is better). or just a regular camera that can take video. just make sure you can here the commentary and the camera is not moving around :p

Video Game Publisher $73.28 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles A video game publisher is a company that publishes video games that they have either developed internally or have had developed by a video game developer. As with book publishers or publishers of DVD movies, video game publishers are responsible for their products manufacturing and marketing, including market research and all aspects of advertising. They usually finance the development, sometimes by paying a video game developer (the publisher calls this external development) and sometimes by paying an internal staff of developers called a studio. The large video game publishers also distribute the games they publish, while some smaller publishers instead hire distribution companies (or larger video game publishers) to distribute the games they publish. Video Game Clone $73.28 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles A video game clone is a video game or game series which is very similar to or heavily inspired by a previous popular game or game series. Some video game genres are founded by such archetypal games that all subsequent similar games are thought of as derivatives. The term is sometimes derogatory, implying a lack of originality, however clones can be anything from a pure ripoff, to a legitimate derivative or improvement on the original or even a homage. In the early video game industry, making a clone of a game was not illegal, provided that no outright copyright violation or trademark infringement occurred. As the gaming market grew large developers gained the ability to sue the developers of clones which were too similar to originals. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Tennoe, Mariam T./ Henssonow, Susan F. Narration in the Video Game $114.71 Do video games tell stories? And if they do, how and why do they do so? In this study, Dominic Arsenault takes the reader through the battlefield of ludology and narratology in video game studies, and argues for a radically new narratological conception of the video game. Like a Starcraft Zerg Drone, he extracts ideas from the rich veins of new media and video game studies, along with the latest developments of narratology and French film theory, and morphs them in with his own personal historical insights and gameplay experience with video games and penandpaper roleplaying games. The resulting theoretical approach finds that narration, as a process, is intrinsic to video game playing, independently of the cutscenes usually much touted by the proponents of interactive storytelling. Academics with an interest in video game studies, narratology or new media will find here a novel perspective on a wellresearched subject, while likeminded students and amateur, professional and prospective game developers will also appreciate the quick, efficient and readable introduction to these hot topics. Video Game Conversion $73.28 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles In video gaming parlance, a conversion is the production of a game on one computer or console that was originally written for another system. Over the years, video game conversion has taken form in a number of different ways, both in their style and the method in which they were converted. Music Video Game $68.51 A music video game, also commonly known as a music game, is a video game where the gameplay is meaningfully and often almost entirely oriented around the players interactions with a musical score or individual songs. Music video games may take a variety of forms and are often grouped with puzzle games due to their common use of rhythmically generated puzzles. Strong support for the convergence of live music and video games is evident with the success of the Video Games Live concert series. Emergent games for live concert performance, gamescores, augment traditional western music notation with the dramatic elements of animation, interactivity, graphic elements and aleatoric principals. The concept of incorporating Game Theory and music is not new and can be traced back to Musikalisches Wrfelspiel. Music video games are distinct from purely audio games in that they feature a visual feedback, to lead the player through the games soundtrack, although eidetic music games can fall under both categories. Breakout (Video Game) $78.07 Breakout is an arcade game developed by Atari, Inc and introduced on May 13, 1976. It was conceptualized by Nolan Bushnell and Steve Bristow, and influenced by the 1972 arcade game Pong. The game was ported to video game consoles and upgraded to video games such as Super Breakout. In addition, Breakout was the basis and inspiration for books, video games, and the Apple II personal computer. In the game, a layer of bricks lines the top third of the screen. A ball travels across the screen, bouncing off the top and side walls of the screen. When a brick is hit, the ball bounces away and the brick is destroyed. The player loses a turn when the ball touches the bottom of the screen. To prevent this from happening, the player has a movable paddle to bounce the ball upward, keeping it in play. The arcade cabinet uses a black and white monitor. However, the monitor has strips of colored cellophane placed over it so that the bricks appear to be in color. Video Game Behavioral Eeffects $84.44 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The scientific study of media effects has led researchers down the road of video game effects. From both a social and psychological standpoint, video games have the ability to influence their players both on implicit and explicit levels. In 1982, the U.S. Surgeon General lamented the lack of such evidence (Selnow, 1984). Racing Video Game $60.54 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles A racing video game is a genre of video games, either in the first or thirdperson perspective, in which the player partakes in a racing competition with any type of land, air, or sea vehicles. They may be based on anything from realworld racing leagues to entirely fantastical settings. In general, they can be distributed along a spectrum anywhere between hardcore simulations, and simpler arcade racing games. The arcade game Gran Trak 10, released by Atari in 1974, is generally considered the progenitor of the genre. Gran Trak 10 presents an overhead view of the track in low resolution white on black graphics, on which the player races against the clock to accumulate points. While challenging, it is not competition racing. Night Racer, released by Micronetics in 1977, extended the genre into three dimensions by presenting a series of posts by the edge of the road. There was no view of the road or the players car and the graphics are still low resolution white on black. Like Gran Trak 10, gameplay was a race against the clock. Turbo (1981) by Sega was the first racing game to feature a thirdperson perspective, rear view format. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Timpledon, Miriam T./ Marseken, Susan F.
