Why do the veins in my left arm temporarily turn dark blue?

I have noticed that occasionally the veins in my left arm will turn a very dark blue. I am fair skinned but again, it only happens temporarily and it is only in my left arm – no where else. The veins turn so dark they sometimes even seem purple.

Has anyone heard of this before?

Sounds like blood flow being cut off a lil…what are you doing when this happens? Do you exercise? Drink enough water? More than likely its nothing to worry about, as long as there is no pain attached with it. If it happens, stretch your arms over your head and lean to the opposite side to get blood flow going again.
